Accessibility, R2D12: #100DaysofCode

I think I’m on Day 12 of my second round. It’s been a little difficult keeping track of my coding for the #100DaysofCode. Although I mark it on my calendar, I forget to talk about it on my blog. So, today, I’m making a special effort to remember. Today, I’ve been working on the Applied Accessibility tutorials on FreeCodeCamp.

When I logged in two weeks ago, I was happy to see the new tutorials. These were topics that I was already researching on the Internet. The hardest part about having ADHD as an adult is I have difficulty holding on to new material. So, I’m glad that I could review JavaScript and HTML5/CSS concepts. (Whew! I can’t believe I finally said that out loud! As a teacher, I deal with young students that are just starting their journey with ADHD. Huge that I made a connection to my difficulties.) I’ve dealt with technology accessibility with my elementary students. Now, I’m looking forward to learning about coding to make my web pages more accessible.

Dirk Gently Is Back!!!

Yasss! Dirk Gently, Holistic Detective Agency is finally back! I’ve been waiting for Season 2 on Hulu. I enjoyed the original BritVersion and this reboot is pretty good. Glad I noticed the new episodes today. It was a great break after today’s World Cup Games (still shocked about Messi). I like the quirky humor and the supernatural theme in the episodes. The show also appeals to my morbid sense of humor. Seasons 1 and 2 are now on Hulu, so enjoy. By the time you read this, I will have binge-watched half the episodes.

3 Faces of a #PhilMitchell Story: Denise Fox ( #EastEnders )

EastEnders Phil Mitchell (Steven McFadden) did his best to convince Kim Fox-Hubbard (Tameka Empson) not to trust DI Ainsworth. He even told Kim that “He was trying to be nice,” when warning her about Ainsworth. That made me giggle. (I actually laughed out loud and interrupted my cat’s nap.) The look on the Fox Sisters’ faces was priceless.

Nice isn’t a word I would associate with Phil. It’s rare that we see a full smile on his face. Phil Mitchell being nice? Never! But he continued with his story hoping it would charm the Fox Sisters… It didn’t work…Continue reading

It’s been 19 years…

… since you left. The hole is still there in my heart. A worn scab covers it, ready to open to release the pain. I hope you’re still proud of me. I’ve had a few missteps along the way…

Daddy, I miss you deeply...

Hijacked by the “White Screen of Death!”

How can a weekend that started with a 1.5-hour massage and a relaxing graduation party end up crappy? Well, thanks to the “White Screen of Death” my relaxing weekend turned into an endless puzzle. First, let me say that my blog silence was not planned this weekend. It happened because …
