Heart Disease In Black Women: The Big Issue You Might Not Know About

Walford Heist: The Bigger Picture (EastEnders)

Video: Charging iPhone with 9-Volt Battery

The thrill of “thundersnow” wore off quickly once I lost power this evening. It went off just when Coronation Street’s Pat Phelan was lying to his project manager about Eileen being sick. I heard a boom, and then my Roku shut off. There would be no relaxing with BritBox tonight.

Anyway, I figured I’d better do something useful with my phone while it was still charged. That’s when I remembered reading on Twitter about charging your cellphone with a household battery. This was the first video I found, and it looks easy. It uses a 9-volt battery. However, I’m sure there are videos about using other batteries.

Good luck and stay safe.

My New BritBox Favorite: Broken with Sean Bean

I started watching Broken with Sean Bean on BritBoxUS three months ago. I binge-watched the rest of Season 1 after the first episode. Now, I’m waiting patiently for Season 2. (Please tell me there will be a Season 2!)

Bean plays Catholic priest, Father Michael Kerrigan. He struggles to accept his past “missteps” and to be a “good priest. I’ve been a practicing Catholic since April 2016. I’ve also had moments where I’ve struggled with maintaining the message and spirit of the mass homily. I found the show to be refreshing and comforting. Continue reading

[Archive] Quote: Microaggressions Chipping Away at My Soul

I’m so tired of these daily microaggressions chipping away at my soul. Your prejudice, racism, and insecurity shouldn’t be part of my daily existence. –T.Lanette

Four and a half months later, I still feel the same way. In fact, I think these situations have increased during the last few months. Microaggressions aren’t always the words that people say out loud. Words are easier to document and fight against. It’s the actions that are more difficult to deal with on a daily basis.

Stuck in Grid Garden: Day3ReBoot #100DaysOfCode

Bitmoji of Black Woman with locs sitting at a desk with papers saying she doesn’t get it.

I should’ve known today would be tough. As I started my CSS Grid Garden puzzles, my WiFi went out. (My account said it was working, my devices said Nope!) I had 5 more puzzles left (#25-28), so of course, my modem would act up. After ten minutes of restarting my modem and Roku (was watching Midsomer Murders), I was ready to code my grid garden. My fun didn’t last long. I got stuck on Puzzle 26. I understood and completed puzzles 25 and 27. However, for 26, I couldn’t get the pixels (px) and fractional (fr) parts correct to water everything except for the top 50px of the garden. I’m still stuck! Hopefully, I’ll be able to figure it out tomorrow, so I can move on to #28.
