Dirk Gently Is Back!!!

Yasss! Dirk Gently, Holistic Detective Agency is finally back! I’ve been waiting for Season 2 on Hulu. I enjoyed the original BritVersion and this reboot is pretty good. Glad I noticed the new episodes today. It was a great break after today’s World Cup Games (still shocked about Messi). I like the quirky humor and the supernatural theme in the episodes. The show also appeals to my morbid sense of humor. Seasons 1 and 2 are now on Hulu, so enjoy. By the time you read this, I will have binge-watched half the episodes.

3 Faces of a #PhilMitchell Story: Denise Fox ( #EastEnders )

EastEnders Phil Mitchell (Steven McFadden) did his best to convince Kim Fox-Hubbard (Tameka Empson) not to trust DI Ainsworth. He even told Kim that “He was trying to be nice,” when warning her about Ainsworth. That made me giggle. (I actually laughed out loud and interrupted my cat’s nap.) The look on the Fox Sisters’ faces was priceless.

Nice isn’t a word I would associate with Phil. It’s rare that we see a full smile on his face. Phil Mitchell being nice? Never! But he continued with his story hoping it would charm the Fox Sisters… It didn’t work…Continue reading

Hollyoaks, About Time: British Soap Awards

Hollyoaks title pictureTonight the British Soap Awards were live and loud. I’ve been waiting for almost a month to see if my votes counted. I wasn’t disappointed. My favorite show, EastEnders, won three awards which were more than I anticipated. However, I need to recognize Hollyoaks for their wins tonight. On the hierarchy of British Soaps, Hollyoaks is the half-sibling no one wants to recognize. That’s a shame because the actors and the storylines are awesome.Continue reading

Knife Storyline: The Conclusion (EastEnders)

Well, it’s been a week since EastEnders Shakil Kazemi (Shaheen Jafargholi) and Keegan Baker (Zack Morris) were stabbed and left for dead in the Queen Vic alley. The “knife storyline” was an important story to tell. There had been an increase in knife-related injuries and deaths in the United Kingdom (U.K.) during …

Why Corrie & Emmerdale Are Ahead of EastEnders

I had plans to write a few EastEnders (EE) posts this week. It’s one of my favorite Brit Soap Operas, so I tend to write about it more often. I also watch Coronation Street (Corrie), Hollyoaks, and Emmerdale. However, after watching Corrie’s three episodes this week (070518 and 110518), I …

The Royal Wedding: Love and Joy

There was no doubt that I would be front and center for the third Royal Wedding in my lifetime. It was Prince Harry’s turn to get married. The second son of the woman, Lady Diana Spencer, whose marriage in 1981 had me glued to the television. That was the beginning. …
