I have read only one book out of 15 for my Goodreads Challenge, and my summer vacation is almost over. That means I have 14 more before December 31. (Once school starts, teaching gets in the way of my recreational reading.)
I had so much time to accomplish my summer goals (reading and household). Yet, I spent my summer tutoring a few students (added to my summer money), relaxing at home (a wonderful gift), and thinking about my goals (courtesy of my ADD). I am not as motivated during the summer as I am during the other seasons. However, I’m not quite ready to give up the challenge.
I usually read multiple books at the same time (a habit I started in high school). However, that also keeps me from finishing books quickly. To be honest, I am still reading a book I started in January which is 400+ pages. So, at this moment, I am reading 4 different books. I have always loved reading. However, I just need multiple stories to stay interested.
…And yet I still chose this challenge. I’m not sure if I made that choice based on arrogance or a momentary lapse of judgement. Either way, I will continue on my Goodreads quest. I’ll keep you posted.
