Quote: Women’s Affinity For Evil

Women do have an affinity for evil, for believing that no woman is to be trusted, but that some men are too innocent to protect themselves.  William Faulkner, The Sound and the Fury

I have been thinking about this quote for awhile. We are now six months into the worst presidency in the United States (US) history. Hillary Rodham Clinton should be our president. We all know why she isn’t in the White House. We also know the percentage of women who voted for Clinton by ethnicity

  • Black Women, 94%;
  • Latino Women, 69%;
  • Other Ethnic Women, 61%;
  • White, Non-Hispanic Women, 47%.

(Washington Post)

Once you do the math, you can see that 53% of White women voted for D.T. (and 47% White women voted for Clinton). This is where the middle of the quote becomes important: …for believing that no woman is to be trusted… Why? Evil or Female Misogyny

If we talk about the misogyny Clinton faced from male journalists and opponents, we also need to discuss hate she faced from women. The 2016 Election was a perfect example of the jealousy and mistrust that can exist among women. I’ve seen it happen professionally. In spite of D.T.’s blatantly sexist and misogynistic (along with racist) views, 53% of these women voted for and accepted his beliefs.

So when we analyze the misogyny Clinton faced from men, we must also include these women…T.Lanette

Did they think Clinton was less qualified? Nope. Were they thinking she was corrupt because FOX News and other media outlets reported “unbiased” information as proof? Well, it can’t be that, although the 53% might use it as an excuse. Still, the rest of us women who voted for Clinton managed to look past the biased reporting, and vote for the more qualified candidate.

So, the only answer has to be: for believing that no woman is to be trusted…These women trusted D.T. more than they trusted Clinton (in addition to agreeing with his racist beliefs and bigotry). They did not trust Clinton. That is one of many reasons why America has D.T. in charge. So when we analyze the misogyny Clinton faced from men, we must also include these women. Their actions go beyond economic concerns. History will remember The 53% and their contribution to the rise of America’s 45th president.

  1. Fortunately, I’m not one of those women who voted for DT. Women are a long long way from enjoying equality and respect in this country. We are seen as less smart, less capable, worth less. I don’t understand how women can support anyone with such ridiculous, cruel opinions.
