Remember– Take care of your Tatas!
I know it comes every year. The radiology center sends the message to me like clockwork. In normal circumstances, a year is 365 days. I think the year for mammograms is much shorter. So, today was the day.
At 8 am EST I got my tatas squished between smooth painted shelves (clamps) to make sure I had no cancer cells.
That’s the best way I can describe this necessary medical exam. I’m a 42DD-ish. When the technician closes that clamp, it sucks the air out of me. (Actually that makes it easier to hold my breath when I don’t have any.) But it’s worth it!
The discomfort of mammograms is minimal compared to the medical treatment for breast cancer. Ladies, get your tatas checked every year. Do whatever you need to do– yoga breathing, mantras, etc. Just get it done. After 15 minutes of slight discomfort, I was ready to continue my day. I also know that my breasts look the same as last year (in spite of the gravity), so I’m good.
Remember– Take care of your Tatas!
