No one saw it coming. No one thought it could be done. But here’s the U.S., number one consistently in all 3 major COVID Categories, New Daily …

U.S. “Exiting” COVID Global Pandemic with a Bang and a Boom

As I lay in bed still dealing with muscle aches from Covid19 (12/26/2021), all I can do is shake my head. This blog post came up at the right time. My symptoms were minimal (fatigue and muscle pain) since I was vaccinated and boostered. Yet, I’m now facing Long Covid and worried about its impact on my heart condition.

I understand that everyone is tired of Covid, but Covid isn’t tired of us. It’s still out their going about it’s airborne business waiting for our unguarded moment.

I tried my best to avoid it, but since I’m a teacher it was inevitable especially with the amount of students I have this year. (I’ll tell that story another time.) Now with the drive to lift Covid19 restrictions and mandates, I feel like the little safety I had will be gone.

All I heard about during the last few weeks is how parents are ready for their kids to be unmasked and free to enjoy their childhood. They feel their children are suffering while following safety guidelines to protect their classmates and their teachers. I understand that everyone is tired of Covid, but Covid isn’t tired of us. It’s still out their going about it’s airborne business waiting for our unguarded moment.

We had the tools to get out from the worst of Covid sooner. Now we have the tools and the right people to manage our pandemic response. Yet here we are trying to bully Covid19 into going away.

That moment will come very soon. This weekend my county went into the critical zone for Covid19 cases. This also means that cases are going up in our state. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Right now my goal is to make it out of this school year without catching a second case of Covid before I can get my next booster. So when my district lifts the mask mandate in a few weeks, I will continue wearing my mask while teaching.

There are many reasons the US is still dealing with the huge amount of Covid cases and deaths compared to other countries. Those reasons add to my fatigue with this pandemic. We had the tools to get out from the worst of Covid sooner. Now we have the tools and the right people to manage our pandemic response. Yet here we are trying to bully Covid19 into going away.
