I was minding my business enjoying my walk when I had the feeling I was being watched. I looked over, and this doe was relaxing eating plants under a tree. She was less than 10 feet away from me, and she didn’t even move as I took the picture. Our deer families have become bolder over the last few years. They aren’t afraid to walk nearby when we in our courtyard.

It was a beautiful scene that reminded me how much I love the warmer weather. However, as I walked to my porch, I kept thinking about one thing— This doe is keeping an eye on my hosta plants. 😡
Every year the deer along with their extended family members eat my hosta before we get to mid-summer. I leave for work walking past beautiful leaves. I come home to green stems. 🤦🏾♀️ It’s hard not to take it personally when they don’t bother the hosta plants near my other neighbors’ porches. They just stop at my area and have a feast.

I’ve never been a gardener, but I’ve always been proud of my hosta. (Easy to plant and they spread.) This is the first year I have sprayed my plants to keep the deer from munching (hopefully).
I like seeing the deer walking around. However, it’s time for them to eat at my neighbors’ houses. 🤞🏾 Happy Gardening 🙋🏾♀️!
