It’s been almost four years since the EastEnders Pride episode, and Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) still doesn’t have a relationship. Bernie came out as Lesbian and celebrated Pride with her family during that episode. Afterwards, she was hidden away for a year. A year that should’ve been spent watching Bernie dating and enjoying her social life. EastEnders has taken 3 years to give us Sukeve 🥰 relationship– Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace). It’s time for the show to let Bernie Taylor have a love story of her own.
It’s unbelievable that EE hid Bernie for a year after Pride while highlighting only a gay male couple. That defeated the whole purpose of the Pride episode and the message behind the episode. When Bernie finally returned, we had a hint of romance between her and Mollie. I was excited to see Bernie and Mollie start their relationship. 🥰 It looked great until… the show had Bernie decide to become a surrogate mom for Stu and Rainie Highway (Ricky Champ & Tania Franks). Mollie, understandably, walked away from the relationship.
Well, baby Roland was born, Stuart and Rainie have left town, and Bernie just got a job at the Cafe. I think it’s time for EastEnders and Chris Clenshaw to give Bernie her romantic storyline. In fact, this is the right time because we need to have more than one gay female couple (I love Sukeve!) and one gay male couple on the show. EastEnders has multiple heterosexual couples, so this shouldn’t be hard.
Bernie Taylor needs a social life and a romantic relationship. It’s been 4 years, and it’s time for EastEnders to do better for Bernie.
