    BingeBuzz: Evil Lives Here (S2-S11)

I found a new binge-worthy show on the ID channel on SlingTVEvil Lives Here. When I am computer coding, I prefer to have the television shows as my background noise. I usually watch British crime or mystery shows. Lately I’ve started watching real life drama. I’ve already watched Fear Thy Neighbor. Afterward I started being more aware of my neighbors. Now, this show talks about living with people who have evil in their souls. The first episode of Season 2 talked about a young man who started hurting and trying to kill his siblings at an early age. The parents knew then their son “wasn’t right”. As a teacher, I’ve met kids that have been wired differently where they don’t have any amount of empathy for other humans 😳 …Anyway, back to the show.

    These Deer are Built Different…

Normally the deer near my home keep far away. However this doe is built differently.

This doe spotted me from the edge of the parking lot as I parked my Wrangler. When I got out, I noticed she disappeared. I thought she went back into the woods. As I started walking on the pathway, she came out of the bushes and started to walk beside me. 😳 She walked beside me like we were two friends chatting. 😳 Normally the deer near my home keep far away. However this doe is built differently.

I sat down for a minute in between cleaning and look who showed up— Mozeley and Shinxley. I knew these weren’t their usual snack stares because I had just given them their treats. So, it must be their “pet me” stares. They look so intense you would think I never pay attention to them. 🙄

They Call Me Demon’s Scrotum 😈

It was such a creative insult by a Ballum fan, I had to add it to my profile name. 😂😂 I figured I should buy the domain name as well in case I developed a cool product or an awesome hard liquor beverage in the future. 😂 I love it!

Locs We Love: 23 Women Share Why They Started Their Loc Journey

I started my Loc journey before Christmas. This will be the 6th-ish time that I’ve had locs. I actually thought I wouldn’t be able to have them again. So, this journey is my new beginning. Last year my hair was thinning due to bad health. I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation three years ago. I had an erratic heart rate that would not respond to my first two (or maybe 3) ablations. It took 2 years but my wonderful heart doctors were able to get me back into sinus rhythm. My body finally started to heal.

That’s when my hair started to grow and become thicker. I felt it was the right time to begin my loc journey again. Right now I’m in the “teenage” stage where my locks have a mind of their own. I love it! My hair texture has become softer since my last set of locks. Now my random gray hairs wave proudly in the breeze after they find a way to become uncoiled.

  • Friday Night Date

Mozeley and Shinxley happy to have me home. 🥰

There is nothing better than coming home on a rainy Friday after work than to see these two trying to share my close personal space. Mozeley keeps tapping me for pets and kisses. Shinxley lays behind me giving me a reminder head-butt to pay attention to her. I love my cat kids. 🥰

  • Nature Watching Me…

    Nature Watching Me…

I was minding my business enjoying my walk when I had the feeling I was being watched. I looked over, and this doe was relaxing eating plants under a tree. She was less than 10 feet away from me, and she didn’t even move as I took the picture. Our deer families have become bolder over the last few years. They aren’t afraid to walk nearby when we in our courtyard.

It was a beautiful scene that reminded me how much I love the warmer weather. However, as I walked to my porch, I kept thinking about one thing— This doe is keeping an eye on my hosta plants. 😡

  • Coding: Why isn’t my space-between ‘space-betweening’?

    Coding: Why isn’t my space-between ‘space-betweening’?

I spent two hours last night trying to figure out why my space-between wasn’t putting the space between my elements in my flexbox container. I checked my code and readjusted the sizes of my elements. Yet my two elements were spaced as if they were only on one side of the page. Yes, they had space between them. However, their alignment relative to the entire section was… off.

I finally decided to close my Mac and try again the next day. As I lay in bed, I gave it one more try and started to research an answer to my issue. I Googled, “Why is flexbox space-between not working?” and ended up on StackOverflow. When I found out the answer, I couldn’t believe it was so simple. It came down to… an empty div element. All that chaos was caused by empty div elements in the flexbox container. So, my space-between was working. However, in the first picture, the empty div elements were part of the spacing. Once I took them out (Picture 2), the elements had the spacing that I needed.

Picture 1: Section before I removed the empty div elements.

Picture 2: Section after I removed the empty div elements.

I understand this may be obvious to some. However, to a new developer, this issue could cause total coding chaos. Now I know when you use justify-content: space-between it will justify all of the elements with and without content. Happy Coding!

  • Caturday: Love from My Cat Babies

    Happy Saturday!

I don’t know if it is the weather, but my cat kids have become more affectionate with me. Shinxley has started laying beside me on the couch more often. Mozeley almost climbed into my bra (and over Shinx) just to get his pets. It was the comfort I needed on this snowy day and for my sore leg. #Caturday

    Let’s talk about European Wars

Europe has always been a warring nation throughout its existence.

Yesterday, a journalist/talking-head/whatever had the nerve to compare the war in the Ukraine with conflicts in other countries. While carefully picking his code words, this man tried to say that this war was in a more civilized and developed place because it was in Europe. I shouldn’t be surprised by blatant racism even during times of war, but I am.

What this reporter failed to share is the long extensive history about the relationship between European countries and the continent’s interaction with the rest of the world. Europe has always been a warring nation throughout its existence.
