Landing Page, Part 2: #100DaysofCode R2D50ish

I’m getting close to finishing my Landing Page project (FreeCodeCamp). I know I’ve said that before. However, it’s taken longer than I expected. Since my last post about my page, I’ve erased and restarted at least three times.  I get so caught up on color schemes and animation, that I stray away from my main task. I need to focus on the User Story and demonstrate my current skills. Eventually, I will be able to code a webpage with a parallax image. When the time is right, I will master the interesting animation techniques. But for now, I just need a page that includes a video, a place to insert email, and a fixed top navbar.

Social Icons Finally …

When you finally figured out why your social icons wouldn’t justify-content-between using Bootstrap 4 and flexbox…

EastEnders: Thirty Minutes to Make Magic

I was thinking about the effort it takes to blend storylines in soaps as I was catching up on a week’s worth of Corrie and Emmerdale. The producers and writers only have about 30 minutes to tell characters’ stories and to keep us entertained. Coronation Street, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks have managed to do that consistently. However, my favorite, EastEnders, is still trying to find that “30-Minute Magic”.

Surprise: The New Meaningless Word

If there was a “Word of the Year” contest, “surprise” would win overwhelmingly. People are still surprised we have a White Supremacist in the White House. Some women and men are surprised that a Supreme Court Nominee has been given a pass for rape allegations.Continue reading

Screw Being Calm

Sigh…Every day I read another story about a racist harassing the Black people as they live their daily lives. Whether it’s a middle-aged White man with high shorts threatening a pregnant black woman or a ditzy blonde White woman harassing a worker at Dollar General, there’s always someone trying to …
