I’m back home after a peaceful ride with my traditional Thanksgiving meal— fried turkey and sweet potato cheesecake! All prepared by my cousin who owns Jersey Jones BBQ and Catering. After a short (but long) work week, there is nothing better than having someone else prepare my Thanksgiving meal.
I want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! I hope your meal with your family and friends is drama free.
If you are spending this day alone like me (my choice), I hope that you still planned a special dinner. You deserve it! So set that table with your best plates and silverware. Single Thanksgiving dinners are just as important as family dinners. I hope you have an awesome day!
So… I bought natural incense sticks from Amazon. ? Every time I burn the Balsam Fir, it smells like… Cannabis. ? I know the smell having been at places where friends and others did their smoking. I’m more into wine & drinks for my relaxing vibe. Yet, every time I …
I realized today that I spent most of my summer indoors because it was way too hot. During the summer, I usually walk downtown and sit outside the neighborhood restaurants. (Have to remind them Black people exist in the town.?) Instead, I sat inside computer coding and catching up on my favorite shows.
It was too beautiful today to not sit outside. I’m normally a Starbucks girl (Shh! Don’t tell them!). However, today I lounged with my pumpkin spice latte at Track Five. The coffee was great and the seat was a perfect for people-watching. Glad I took the time to sit outside and enjoy the weather.
This doe (I’ll call her Lola) looked at me the same way when I left this morning. It was funny to see her in the same place when I came home. (I swear that’s the same deer!) Only Mother Nature’s creatures could make you think you’re interrupting something when you have a right to be there.
I even interrupted a mini-discussion between Lola and a gray cat during my morning walk. As she ran away, Lola hissed at me. Well, it sounded like a repeated sneeze. (Do deer really make noises?) Nature interrupted…
Thanks to that beautiful doe below, my hostas are done. ☹️ Poof! Gone! They were the highlight of my little garden.
Big green hosta leaves glistening in the summer sun..
Now, after that doe and her family had a party, I have hosta stems. ? I’m not the only person with hosta in my lawn area. The deer just prefer my patch because it’s closer to the woods. I could spray some deer repellent. However, I had hoped (again) that they wouldn’t touch it. ??♀️ I was wrong.
