I miss EastEnders Denise Fox (Dianne Parish)! How can John Yorke and the writers let this brilliant actress sit on the sidelines? If it was Martin Fowler going through grief, Stacey Fowler would be by his side. Even when Mick Carter was in his feelings about leaving Shakil behind (Which he got over very quickly…), Linda Carter was there to comfort him.Continue reading“Denise Fox: EastEnders Missing Person”
I was thinking about the effort it takes to blend storylines in soaps as I was catching up on a week’s worth of Corrie and Emmerdale. The producers and writers only have about 30 minutes to tell characters’ stories and to keep us entertained. Coronation Street, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks have managed to do that consistently. However, my favorite, EastEnders, is still trying to find that “30-Minute Magic”.Continue reading“EastEnders: Thirty Minutes to Make Magic”
If there was a “Word of the Year” contest, “surprise” would win overwhelmingly. People are still surprised we have a White Supremacist in the White House. Some women and men are surprised that a Supreme Court Nominee has been given a pass for rape allegations.Continue reading“Surprise: The New Meaningless Word”
It’s been 19 years…
… since you left. The hole is still there in my heart. A worn scab covers it, ready to open to release the pain. I hope you’re still proud of me. I’ve had a few missteps along the way…
Daddy, I miss you deeply...

Tonight the British Soap Awards were live and loud. I’ve been waiting for almost a month to see if my votes counted. I wasn’t disappointed. My favorite show, EastEnders, won three awards which were more than I anticipated. However, I need to recognize Hollyoaks for their wins tonight. On the hierarchy of British Soaps, Hollyoaks is the half-sibling no one wants to recognize. That’s a shame because the actors and the storylines are awesome.Continue reading“Hollyoaks, About Time: British Soap Awards”
It’s a little odd that #EastEnders Aidan Maguire returned to Albert Square, and the first thing he did was to harass Vincent Hubbard about selling The Albert. Does he already know Ciara Maguire has the money? Does he even know about Sharon Mitchell’s role in taking the money? Isn’t he concerned about why Phil Mitchell left town?
Before Aidan left town, he said he wanted to know which of the men had the money by the time he returned. He didn’t appear too concerned about it last week. Instead, he focused on making Vincent’s life hell. In fact, I wonder if Aidan has forgotten about the heist.
I have a feeling some of these questions won’t be answered…Has anyone seen Luke Browning?
