I started watching Secret City on Netflix today. I was hooked right away, and through Season 1 by the evening.

It’s a political thriller that takes place in the Australia Capital Territory, Canberra. Harriet Dunkley (Anna Torv) is a journalist who keeps digging to find out the secrets between the Australian and Chinese embassies. Of course, the United States embassy is stuck somewhere in the mess.

At one point it seems like every person Harriet talks to dies, gets arrested, and/or beaten brutally. Definitely my type of excitement for a winter Sunday. Although it’s Australian television, it’s worth a watch for my fellow Anglophiles.
