My Never-ending Safe Shelter-In-Place

Update: June 6, 2020

When I started writing this post, we were just dealing with Covid-19. Since then, we have witnessed the brutal murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin. There have been Black Lives Matter protests around the country and internationally during these past few weeks. I can’t believe that we are still here in 2020 trying to get the police to stop killing unarmed Black men and women.

We’ve been fighting against police brutality since the Rodney King beating in 1991. Once TrumpTwat entered office, I knew the quality of my life would become worse. I’ve dropped many co-worker friends due to their support of his words and policies. Even now that we are three and a half years into his term, I still don’t think those people truly understand the damage Trump has done to our country.

All I can do is hold on to the faith that I have in Black people that we will survive this latest attempt to take away our rights. #BlackLivesMatter
